Now a software company.
Electrical Ops, Inc. no longer takes electrical contracting projects. Our focus is Stinger Pro software. Read the story →
The platform

One platform for the whole job.

Stinger Pro is built around the way electrical contractors actually run work: estimate it, win it, schedule the crews, buy the material, process labor and invoices, track the cost, bill the customer, and keep the record.

ESTIMATING & TAKEOFF

Estimate the work, line by line.

Point-and-click takeoff builds the full bill of material and labor. Feeders, branch circuits, gear, panels, fixtures, and devices carry real quantities, labor units, and pricing straight into a live summary with burden, markup, and quote.

Assemblies and takeoff items with labor units.
Live labor rate, burden, and markup.
Quote summaries and progress-billing schedule of values.

DIGITAL PLAN TAKEOFF

Measure once, on the plans.

Open a plan PDF and take off directly on the sheet — linear routes, counts, and callouts. Measurements stay attached to the project instead of living in a separate tool or on paper.

Routed linear takeoff with calibrated scale.
Symbol counts and quantity tracking.
Notes and measurements retained on the project.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT

The estimate becomes the project.

Sections and labor hours seed a Gantt schedule and a labor budget. Job costing rolls actual cost up against the estimate by section, and change orders and closeout stay in the same structure.

ACCOUNTING & JOB COST

Where the money actually goes.

Accounts payable, accounts receivable, AIA progress billing, and payroll — including certified payroll — all trace back to the job. Scanned invoices convert into payables and land on the right cost code.

A/P, A/R, and AIA progress billing.
Payroll, certified payroll, and 1099 labor.
Invoice OCR into payables and job cost.
RedEye Accounting

The whole back office — in the same program.

Estimating and takeoff feed the job; RedEye keeps the books. It’s a full double-entry accounting system built for electrical contractors — not a bolt-on, not a separate subscription — and it’s built around one idea most accounting tools miss: the record stays whole. The document, the data, and the transaction live together, so when you go hunting six months later, everything is in one place instead of scattered across folders and other computers.

Payroll includes an accommodation for certified / prevailing-wage payroll — the reporting that government and union jobs require — right alongside standard and 1099 labor, all tied back to the job.

Import an invoice PDF → a payable, in one step

Drop in a vendor’s PDF invoice and RedEye reads it — pulling the vendor, invoice number, date, total, and line items into a ready-to-post A/P entry, and it can create the vendor for you. The original PDF stays attached to the bill, so your backup is right there in the transaction, not on some other computer.

Bank reconciliation that reads your statement

Download the free CSV your bank already offers, load it, and RedEye lines it up against your register. Matches turn green; anything not yet in your books shows red. Right-click to add a missing item, set the GL code (or let a saved bank rule do it), and you’re reconciled — no retyping the statement, no checking off a printed page.

AIA progress billing, built in

Native G702/G703 Application & Certificate for Payment, with a schedule of values and retainage — the format owners and general contractors expect, generated straight from the job. No exporting to a spreadsheet and rebuilding it by hand every month.

Lien waivers, done and kept

The conditional and unconditional, progress and final waiver-and-release forms are built in — editable language, auto-filled from your customer and job, and retained with the record instead of floating in a folder somewhere.

Your data, no toll booths

Import and export in common formats. Pull in your bank activity from the free CSV your bank already provides — no paid “bank connection” add-on, and nothing shared with your bank; you’re simply loading a file. Update your material prices the same way, straight from your supplier’s or manufacturer’s price file. It’s built for the contractor who does the estimate, drives the truck, and runs the work — and it scales up from there.

Engineering tools

NEC calculators, built into the bid.

Conduit fill, motors, available fault current, pull box, wireway, transformer and generator sizing, duct bank concrete, and a plain-language code reference — on the same screen where you price the work. The motor calculator and a code reference are free to use on the Tools page.
