Twenty tools on the estimate’s Tools tab. Three of them can be opened from a takeoff entry and send their answer back into it.
You are working in a takeoff module. A button there opens the tool with the run already in it. The tool runs, and from inside it you send the result back — and it lands in the entry you came from, because the entry launched it. The tool never reaches into the estimate: the entry hands the tool its context. Values that came back show in green; type over one and it is yours, and the next import leaves it alone.
| Takeoff module | Button in the module | Tool it opens | What comes back |
|---|---|---|---|
| Conduit (Feeder / Branch Circuit) | ⚙ Size from Fill | Conduit Fill, with the run’s conductors and conduit type | Send this Fill to Takeoff: the conduit size. Send Recommended or Send As Designed to Takeoff: the conduit size, the phase conductors, the neutral if the run has one, the ground and the number of parallel conduits. |
| Conduit (Feeder / Branch Circuit) | Size from Calculator beside Pull Box Size | Pull Box | Send Pull Box to Takeoff: the box size into Pull Box Size. |
| Every module with a Wireway section: Conduit, Cable, Site, Motor Hookups, Explosion Proof, Devices, Light Fixtures, Misc, Voice/Data, Demolition, Trenching, Cable Tray, Wiremold, Fire Alarm, Security, Welding | Size from Calculator in the Wireway section | Wireway | Send to Wireway (Takeoff): a new wireway line at the recommended size. |
The other way: in the Pull Tension tool, Read from takeoff copies a conduit run from the estimate into the tool and changes nothing in the takeoff; Add to equipment list puts the cable puller and rope on the estimate’s Equipment tab. The other tools are reference and calculation only: the Tools tab says they do not affect the takeoff or the bid.
Each tool shares one toolbar: Name / Tag, Save Report (PDF), Save Calc, Load Calc, Open phone job… and Reset This Tool. The fourteen linked below each have a page: the drawing the tool makes, the report it writes, and its example step by step in the Suite.
Chapter 9 fill and the smallest conduit, with ampacity and derating, voltage drop and feeder sizing on the same screen.
Sends back to the takeoff314.28 box size for straight and angle pulls of 4 AWG and larger, drawn to scale.
